What’s Happening in Grade 8?
September 24th
We have finished the introduction of the past and students have produced some great projects focusing on their summer.

We are learning the clothes, colors and other descriptive adjectives. Students will learn the verbs to buy and to prefer which are irregular due to accent changes. We will learn the 3rd regular verb group RE verbs. We will also learn to use the verb to go with other actions to speak about the future.
September 3rd
The past is taught in units 11 and 12 in our curriculum but we usually get there at the end of the year and the students don’t have enough practice before we send them to the high school. So this year I have begun the year with the past and we will be creating PowerPoints or PhotoStories using the past to describe our summer.
We are also ending lesson 6 and beginning lesson 7. We will be learning about professions and clothing. Students will be designing a clothing line with a sales pitch to convince us all that we cannot succeed in life without their products….this project will serve as an assessement of the grammar and vocabulary in this unit including pictures, writing and their voice.
